Hello! My name is Suzanna Petot and I am a curator and writer currently living in London, originally from Queens, NY.
I am a Curatorial Assistant at the Hayward Gallery, recent exhibitions and projects include Hiroshi Sugimoto: Time Machine (upcoming 2023), Asim Waqif: Venu (2023), Strange Clay: Ceramics in Contemporary Art (2022) and Monira Al Qadiri: Devonian (2022).
I curate petz projects, a series of exhibitions organised in collaboration with Rabbet, which focuses on providing a platform for emerging artists in London.
I am also a co-organiser of the interdisciplinary arts project Decorating Dissidence with Dr Jade French and Dr Lottie Whalen.
I have previously worked for the for the Arts Council Collection, White Cube, Gallerie delle Prigioni | Luciano Benetton Collection, Tate Modern, The Courtauld Gallery, M.I.T List Visual Arts Center and the Boston Center for the Arts.
My curatorial approach focuses on increasing engagement and accessibility to art for as wide of an audience as possible, especially to young people. My projects explore contemporary art and interdisciplinary practices - especially performance, installation, and textile art. My research interests include craft and design, feminist art and community art practices.
Outside of the art world, I enjoy football (yes, soccer), cooking and spritz campari. I am always looking for freelance projects so do contact me if you want to work together!
