Exhibition

Feminist Fiber Art (FFA) is an ongoing traveling, DIY, community art exhibit that focuses on womxn artists and the versatile medium of fiber art. It is an inclusive event, intended to empower minorities and encourage equality through the powerful avenue of creative collaboration. I joined the Iris Nectar Studio, the project founder, as a curatorial assistant in January 2015 to support the project management. The first FFA exhibition took place across three locations in Somerville, MA : Washington St. Art Center, Aeronaut Brewing Co. and Arts at the Armory. The project then moved to Industry Lab in Cambridge, MA from September to October 2015. Alongside each exhibition, we organised craft fairs, community events, live music and spoken word performances. Proceeds from the craft fairs and performances were donated to local women shelters and charities.
